Best place for tacos near the port

You're docking at Punta Langosta, the downtown pier. Lots of places around with tacos along the plaza. But IMO, you should go to Los Otates, they have great tacos! It's on Avenida 15 between Calle 3 Sur and Rosado Salas. Walk off the pier turn left, go 3 streets toward the ferry pier, but before you get to the Plaza, cross over the waterfront street walk up Calle 3 to Avenida 15 about 3 blocks inland from the waterfront and turn left. Not really all that far. Streets from pier go Calle 7, Call5, Calle 3 (even streets are north of the plaza) and streets from the waterfront go Avenida 5, Avenida 10, Avenida 15.

A closer place, with good tacos, is El Foco. Which is on Avenida 5 between Calle 5 and Calle 3.

There are any number of street vendors around. But some of the best are deeper into town away from the waterfront. There used to be a guy near las Palmas, close to the ferry pier that all the local shopkeepers went to. Not sure if he's still around.

But try the corn on the cob or in a cup (called esquites) from one of the tricycle vendors around. Chile powder, mayonnaise, lime.

How about near Puerta Maya? Any taco suggestions... I am a taco aficionado to say the least and my stepson loves fish tacos!

Agree that Panchos has good fish tacos, but if you are even slightly adventurous, just head out the port, turn left and head toward the International Pier. There should be a blue food truck parked around there. Great stuff.

If you want really good fish tacos though, you need to head into town and then head to the back of town, away from the plaza and the waterfront. El Chino Marinero up on Avenida 25 and the downtown portion of the Transversal road. San Carlos Pescarderia on Avenida 52 Biz (primarily the local fish market) or Diego's a little further down the transversal road across from the airport are great choices too. Even further out is Cameron Dorado, only open until 2P or they run out of stuff. Local place with large following. If you happen to be coming in from the East side and didn't stop at any place along that road, or are still hungry, C.D. is your stop. If closed then Diego's.
