Recife and Salvador Brazil

Recife and Olinda are twin cities geographically. Olinda is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We were taken to see some old churches and a shopping centre that I believe was once a prison. I didn't even get out of the bus for that. What I didn't get to see was the old hitorical area of Recife. I particularly wanted to see where the first Synagogue in all of the Americas was. It had just opened after 347 years. There are also other interesting buildings in that area. I believe that it can only be seen on foot.

Only special port taxis are permitted in the port area, tour busses and a special bus that will take you to stop Uno which is next to the historical district, Recife Antigo.
