They are heavy and miserable and you cant buy anything with them. You can use dollars in the quater slots in the casino so leave the quaters at home and load up with the big $$$$ . Have a great cruise.
superjerryw Posted October 14, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2005 You hold the roll of quarters in your hand and then clench your fist. Real handy when you have to fight with chair hogs or those pushy people in elevators.....

mbisson Posted October 14, 2005 #7 Share Posted October 14, 2005 If you're in a "bad" neighborhood during a port visit, have your quarters in a sock. Grab the open end of the sock and thump any dangerous people who might try to mug you. -Monte

barbyma Posted October 14, 2005 #10 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Some people bring quarters for laundry, but RCI ships don't have self-serve laundry facilities. Besides, if quarters are needed for anything (and they aren't) you could get them onboard. Barb

critterchick Posted October 14, 2005 #13 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Cheap room service tips? $0.25 per bag at the luggage drop off? Yes, that will ensure that your luggage arrives after dinner smelling of seaweed! Seriously, you don't need to bring your own quarters. The casino slots take bills (big ones:eek: ) and there aren't any vending machines on board.
MIcruiser99 Posted October 14, 2005 #14 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Do NOT take rolls of quarters! My husband put some in my luggage and I was stopped at security because they look like a metal tube which results in getting pulled aside:eek: for a more detailed search. CaptData Posted October 14, 2005 #16 Share Posted October 14, 2005 Depending on which ship you are on it may be for laundry. On the Maasdam the machine used quarters, same with some Princess ships. Or are you going into the Arcade.

cherub44 Posted October 15, 2005 #18 Share Posted October 15, 2005 I remember someone mentioning the roll of quarters also. I think it was for the trip getting to the cruise ship for your kids. Give them the quarters and every time they irritate you (or something like that) they have to give you one back.

Sheffie Posted October 15, 2005 #20 Share Posted October 15, 2005 I remember someone mentioning the roll of quarters also. I think it was for the trip getting to the cruise ship for your kids. Give them the quarters and every time they irritate you (or something like that) they have to give you one back. Cherub, we used this tip when we travelled from Indiana to Omaha with our 4 and 6 year old grandchildren. Every time they asked how much farther, or they argued, we got a quarter from their stash. It worked like a dream! By the end of the round trip they each ended up with $9.50 out of the $10.00!
cruzzers Posted October 15, 2005 #21 Share Posted October 15, 2005 No use for quarters...but take lots of one dollar bills for tips. You will need to tip porters for luggage and cab drivers and room service and the list goes on and on. We take about 25 dollar bills with us each trip. imsulin2 Posted October 15, 2005 #23 Share Posted October 15, 2005 And the TVs won't work unless you put in a quarter. One quarter = 15 minutes of airtime. Now, the in-cabin jukebox only works on 2 quarters! Just hope you don't get a cabin with a pay toilet! You're talking 3 quarters, here!
