menrex Posted April 3, 2016 #76 Share Posted April 3, 2016 My guess would be the repairs will be made in Freeport. I'm not surprised they added it to the next weeks itinerary. I have been aboard a cruise that needed repair and Grand Turk was suddenly dropped mid cruise and changed to an overnight in Freeport to make repairs. laumicmah Posted April 3, 2016 #77 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Wow, Nassau and Freeport are terrible. Nothing like Grand Turk and HMC. The compensation they are providing is very generous but if my dates were flexible I would probably reschedule for another date. I agree. I did the Grand Turk and HMC (and Freeport) one a couple years ago and chose it for those 2 ports. I wonder why they can't get one of those 2 ports in with Freeport??? jpstuhr Posted April 3, 2016 #80 Share Posted April 3, 2016 WOW! 5-11:30pm in Nassau? Guessing not a beach day. My guess they will be doing repairs in Freeport as the extra day at sea is on Friday. Gives them 2 days to fix the problem. I had GT & HMC rerouted on my last cruise (my 1st) due to a hurricane but we made the most of it and had a great time. Guess that's all you can do. cruisexlife Posted April 3, 2016 #81 Share Posted April 3, 2016 I just ventured down to the local beach to snap some pictures of it arriving back into Baltimore. CM1984 Posted April 3, 2016 #82 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Whose remark was unnecessary? Are you referring to mine: "CM1984, the OP meant propulsion problems, not proposition problems. I assume it was an autocorrect-typo issue." ? I was trying to be helpful to someone who certainly seemed to not know what the OP meant: Unless you mean that CM1984 was being sarcastic and making a remark about the spelling? I didn't read sarcasm in CM1984's post and took (him?) at his word and explained. So what remark, pray tell, was "totally unnecessary"? The only one I notice being snarky here is you, so far. MY FRIENDS MY FRIENDS.....I do not wish to disrupt the thread on where the Pride is, but I just want you to know, I really thought the issue was "proposition". How crazy of me, considering my auto correct happens all the time. I was not offended by anything. And I'm a girl! Mimi Okay, back to the important issue on the Pride! Hope that girl gets back soon, old cruisers are off quickly for their sakes and new cruisers are on with a drink and/or fork in their hands! ravenjls Posted April 3, 2016 #84 Share Posted April 3, 2016 I see on the cruise tracker Carnival Pride is making its way into Washington D.C. area right now. Does anyone know if the ship propulsion problems have been fixed or will it be repaired at the Baltimore port? Just an FYI...the cruise tracker you are using is incorrect. I live by DC and there are no cruise ships that come anywhere near. They would have to travel up the Potomac River from the mouth of the chesapeake bay. All cruise ships travel up the Chesapeake Bay to Baltimore.
RYDH20 Posted April 3, 2016 #85 Share Posted April 3, 2016 The ship is just now coming into Baltimore Maryland to pick up cruise passengers that should have already been on the ship and setting sail. It needs repairs apparently to be made in Baltimore and they will set sail late tonight. Embarkation is not scheduled until 11 pm. They were supposed to go to Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay and Freeport. Now Carnival has dropped Grand Turk and Half Moon Cay and will just do Nassau and Freeport instead. They will get 50% off the cruise and 50% off another future cruise. bhanback Posted April 3, 2016 #86 Share Posted April 3, 2016 They are not letting people in to park yet. We are sitting in a scary parking lot waiting. They said boarding would start at 9 pm. They said that at the parking lot. Nassau from 5-11 pm, have they lost their minds?

Also I was wondering about fttf and plats, etc. It will likely be a zoo... sure don't want to be paying a cab to sit in line trying to get closer to the building. We've been in this freezing hotel lobby all day and I need new scenery.
laumicmah Posted April 3, 2016 #88 Share Posted April 3, 2016 And sorry to tell you guys that the workers at that port are notoriously less than enthusiastic (ie: slow). I am sorry you're going to be in for a long chaotic night.
JaniceB Posted April 3, 2016 #89 Share Posted April 3, 2016 I think that is reasonable compensation for the next cruise. Strange about the time in port though.
Crusin Karen Posted April 3, 2016 #90 Share Posted April 3, 2016 I bet they have a big cold glass of bubbly for you when you embark! :D This must be a total nightmare, but try to put it behind you when you board and KEEP CALM AND CRUISE ON. Bon Voyage!!!

You could drive 10 minutes, park and walk around Harbor Place or if you dont want to drive into the city go a little bit further to Arundel Mills and try a bit of gambling at MD Live Casino -- I hope your luck changes for the better soon! Bodycruise Posted April 3, 2016 #93 Share Posted April 3, 2016 True, your destinations have changed, but your cruise is only seven hours shorter and you're basically getting a free cruise 50% + 50% = 100%. That's a sweet deal! I wish I had scheduled this week.

What an awful way to start a cruise, but the compensation is good and I would be happy with that. I'm sure it will be a nightmare when everyone finally gets to enter the terminal. audcc77 Posted April 3, 2016 #95 Share Posted April 3, 2016 We are platinum but you gotta get in the parking lot first! Evidently plat and fttf means nothing in these situations! In Charleston a few years ago, we were sailing late, we were dropped off by cab. We zoomed by all the other people waiting to get into the parking lot. Got right in. However, I don't think I want to take a chance and have to sit out on the sidewalk this time. It's too cold.
splintz Posted April 3, 2016 #96 Share Posted April 3, 2016 We are platinum but you gotta get in the parking lot first! Evidently plat and fttf means nothing in these situations! well there is no where to park until the current passengers get off the ship and then leave the parking lot in their cars. that is why everyone has to wait outside the parking lot. if there is no where to physically park your car what do you want them to do tow the other cars out of the parking lot so you can park your car? i understand your frustrated and i would be pissed too. but there is nothing that can be done till the other passengers get off the ship and clear out the lot. That's a sweet deal! I wish I had scheduled this week. I agree it's a sweet deal. I was booked on this cruise and just 3 weeks ago switched it to the April 15th 8 day cruise due to a work conflict. I was happy the extra day, but I'd seriously like this 7 hr shorter cruise and the 50% + 50% = 100%. Sweet. I'm sorry, Mimi, that I guessed wrong and called you "(him?)".:o I didn't think it was crazy of you, I believed what you said and took it as you really thought the OP meant "proposition" and that you thought it might be a cruise ship-related term with which you weren't familiar, so I was explaining that the OP meant "propulsion". It was a simple misunderstanding of a simple typo. There was no problem until the other poster decided to wrongly call someone (me?) out on the "spelling remark". I agree with you, I hope all goes quickly and smoothly with the debarkation / embarkation process for all involved.
WinnipegCruiser Posted April 3, 2016 #99 Share Posted April 3, 2016 Sorry that you have had so much bad luck with the Pride. We have been on her twice, and both were 14 day cruises. (March 2016 and March 2015). We experienced zero issues, but obviously these things happen. I like that Carnival immediately manages the expectations and takes responsibility. This line is a joke anymore. Third cruise with them and problems all 3 times. Then offer $25 a person with 20% off future cruise with many restrictions when to use.
