What time do they begin boarding?

This is our first Carnival Cruise. We will be leaving from the Long Beach Port. What time would you all recommend arriving to begin the boarding process?

Long beach seems to start at 11:30 at the earliest. However check in and waiting to board is done outside until the dome is open which is roughly 1 hr after boarding begins.

Long Beach doesn't have scheduled check in.

 

OP - Most of the time boarding starts at 11:30, but if there is a crew visa check or a Coast Guard inspection, or who knows why reason, then boarding will start later. If you don't like waiting, if you get to the port around 1 and you should be okay.

 

Check in is outside the dome and starts at 9:30. As vwrestler171 said, there is only outside waiting. The area is covered and there is seating around concrete planters.
