Do we need to be linked

Just wondering if we need to have linked reservation (with 2 other couples) for any reason other than dining??

 

We have almost always traveled with a group. This time, we have 3 couples and we chose MTD. (which we have in the past) Our TA is telling us that Royal will not let her link our reservations, since its not needed for dining.

 

When did Royal change this. We have always been linked before.

 

But now that I think about it, do we need to be linked for anything else???

All I can think of is possibly entertainment reservations on Oasis or Quantum class.

I was wondering the same thing. I have two cabins booked on harmony and we have my time dining. The ta said we couldn't link them and Royal said there was no need to link since we did not have traditional dining. They said we could book all entertainment separately without having an issue. The only other few times that I traveled with 2 cabins we also linked them but we had traditional dining and had to link to be at the same table for dinner.

When you go onto your cruise planner online, you can add guests from another booking if you have their reservation number - that way you can book for all 3 couples for anything you need to.

My TA had no trouble linking all 8 of our cabins. We did this because we want to sit together at 7:00 at MTD. We all have MTD.

Would we need to be linked if we want to book our MTD ahead???

 

Will try linking myself, but not sure if it will allow me since with a TA

I don't know if you NEED to be linked, but you would certainly be able to book your My Time Dining reservations for everybody in your party through the Cruise Planner - that would you should be sitting together rather than having 3 separate bookings for the same time?

You can't link if your booking is held through a TA.

 

I really don't think linking makes much difference with MTD.
