Jemery Posted April 6, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 6, 2016 We will be in Gothenburg in June on the Zuiderdam. What are the different ways to the Aeroseum, and how much would a taxi cost? Is the airport shuttle an option? I read of one fellow who took the city bus and wandered around after he got off because there were no signs pointing to it. We don't want to waste time just wandering around looking for it. Thanks for any help you can give. -John Emery
Desdichado62 Posted April 6, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 6, 2016 (edited) A taxi would cost around 400-450SEK (~50-55USD) for 1-4 people in a regular sized car for a oneway journey. There are no airport shuttles anymore since the airport have closed (Aeroseum is still open though) and all commercial flight activity have moved to the bigger Landvetter airport. Public transport will work but requires atleast one change as well as pre-purchased tickets. http://reseplanerare.vasttrafik.se/bin/query.exe/en?SGID=9021014001950000&ZGID=9021014002745000&date=2016-06-13&time=08:00×el=depart&start=1&jsEnabled=yes Directions from bus stop to Aeroseum: https://www.google.com/maps/dir/Granh%C3%A4ll,+417+46+G%C3%B6teborg/Aeroseum/@57.7737614,11.8820882,16z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m14!4m13!1m5!1m1!1s0x464f8afbdd1aa2c3:0x10d196905ddb1d39!2m2!1d11.8920229!2d57.7752282!1m5!1m1!1s0x0:0x85da3f819c88cb18!2m2!1d11.881156!2d57.7714294!3e2 Edited April 6, 2016 by Desdichado62
Bowie MeMe Posted April 7, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2016 My daughter and her family will be in Gothenburg for a week in late May while my daughter attends a conference on Neurochemistry at the University. She has a 7 year old boy, and a 1 year old girl that will be exploring the city with their Dad. Could I sneak in this thread to ask 2 questions? What do you suggest for Dad to do/see with the kids? What is the law in Sweden for 1 year old children to ride in taxis or cars or busses? (They are not taking a car seat) Thank you if you can answer. And back to the thread! Well Liseberg and possible Universeum would be good choices but that won't take all week. Universeums main attraction, the rain forrest, are undergoing reconstruction and won't be fully opened until early June. http://liseberg.com/en/home/ http://www.universeum.se/en/ Some other things that might be of interest: http://www.goteborg.com/en/gothenburg-for-kids/ http://www.goteborg.com/en/alfons-abergs-kulturhus/ http://www.goteborg.com/en/bokskapet/ http://www.goteborg.com/en/sjofartsmuseet-akvariet/ http://www.goteborg.com/en/teddysons-i-haga/ http://www.goteborg.com/en/krabat-co/ http://www.goteborg.com/liten-karin/ (toy store, english version of site is not working). http://www.goteborg.com/en/citycard/faq/ http://www.goteborgsvarvet.se/en/family-races/kids-races/ (running event for children, May 22nd only). When it comes to transport, the 1 year old will travel free of charge on public transport, the 7 year counts as "youth" and travels for a discounted price. http://www.vasttrafik.se/#!/en/tickets-and-prices/ For car transports, a children's seat is mandatory by law, for children 7 years or younger, for children aged 1-3 it's mandatory with a backwards facing children's seat. http://www.taxigoteborg.se/En/Taxi_travel/Travel_with_children

Marseydotes Posted April 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2016 We will be in Gothenberg in July. Rain is always possible! Can anyone suggest indoor activities that would be best? Also, are there archipelago boats that have cover or inside areas?
