Tables for 3

Hi This is our third P&O cruises the two previous have been on Arcadia and Oriana where we have had set dining which worked really well for us. This time we have requested flexible dining as our 2 year old son is coming with us. Has anyone got any experience of tables for 3. He is not the best at sitting still as he is only 2 but we want him to experience the evening dining in the MDR rather than just eat at the buffet, but think that rather than sitting on larger tables and potentially disrupting anyone else's evening meal we would try and get a table for 2 but then ask if they can add an extra seat do you think this will be ok?

We took our 3yo last year and had freedom dining. We got a table for 4 that just had a spare seat. :) It was fine and gave us the additional space for 'drawing' and small toys etc.

Hi, we have sometimes travelled as a three with our grown up son and have always been placed on a four table in club dining. A table for three will also be easily available on freedom dining with perhaps a small wait with a pager to let you know when it's ready. Claire

If you are lucky enough to get Freedom Dining you will; if you say you want to dine alone as a party you will get allocated a table for four and have a vacant seat. The chances of "Freedom" are high in my experience.

 

However if you are unlucky and get a Club Dining set up, the best strategy is to sit with youngster in between the couple of you. This will limit disruption. It all depends on how one's youngster is on the day!
