Carnival 18-20 Year Olds

I have heard that Carnival created a new program for 18 to 20 year olds. Is this true? Has anyone seen the program? We cruises last year and there was nothing for my son to do. He's 20 now and we still love having him with us we just don't know what he will do.

We have cruised with our son since he was 6 years old. He's now 29 so he can buy his own cruise. His least favorite cruise was 18-20. It's just an odd age for a cruise ship. They will take your money in the casino but not the bars. BTW, it has nothing to do with U.S. laws, it's exclusively CCL's decision. Once in international waters, maritime law prevails. All Caribbean islands allow 18 year olds to drink.

On our October 2015 cruise they added times each day with meeting locations for this age group. My sons 19 and 21 were not on this cruise, but it was great to see the addition. Sorry I cant give more information.

We have a similar situation. We are leaving in 11 days with two 17 year olds and one 18 year old. I would love to know a good solution to keep them all happy! Please keep the answers coming!

"I am sorry to say that we have failed in our attempts to get 18 -20 year olds to come to our LIV1820 events. We really tried but attendance was minimal or on many occasions non existent. It seems that most of that age are quite content to go to the shows and activities we do for everyone plus meet new friends on their own. However, we are going back to the drawing board on this one and we will try again with a new plan

 

So any advice or requests on this please do let us know here

This makes me sad....my DS will be 19 when we cruise in August. I was hoping there will be a meeting group of some kind for him. I love hanging out with him, but I also want him to do his own thing like when he went to the clubs.

I recently cruised for the first time with my 17-year-old son and he had a great time. He's very outgoing and I was worried he would be totally bored. I thought he would want to meet other teens his age but because they were all with THEIR parents, it wasn't like that. There's enough on the ship to keep any age person occupied, even if it's just people watching. My son liked the evening entertainment, especially the comedian and singers, so we went every night, and he enjoyed talking to a couple of pretty girls who worked on the ship. He occasionally would wander the ship for an hour or so after I turned in for the night, checking out the DJ or having a coffee. I was relieved that he enjoyed himself so much. Even dressing up for dinner in the fancy restaurant was a kick for him. Can hardly wait to cruise again. Hope all of you moms and dads have as good a time with your "young adults" as I did.

On the ships that sail out of Australia (currently Spirit and Legend) the drinking age is 18+, as it is in Australia. Serenity is also 18+.

Anyone have any updates on this 18-20 Year Old subject? Has anyone seen or heard anything lately about plans for this age group, any updates from John Heald etc... Thanks for any info you can share.

I don't think there is an official program by Carnival but I know that they still host meet and greets for 18-20 year olds on every cruise! :)
