Mark-Sheffield Posted April 17, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 17, 2016 We are on Indy in 4 weeks time and wonder if they still do a first night discount ? I am sure previously they took off 20% before on embarkation night ?

I am sure previously they took off 20% before on embarkation night ? There were discounts embankment day for all three specialty restaurants on Liberty of the Seas last month. The discount wasn't available until one was aboard the ship.
Mark-Sheffield Posted April 19, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted April 19, 2016 Thanks for that, we are a group of 6 and are wanting to go to Chops, a discount on the first night would be an incentive to go on the first night
Ken at the beach Posted April 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) FWIW we have seen discounts on the first night on less than half our cruises. It's hit or miss and depends on how many have already booked specialty restaurants. I also think that it's becoming rarer to see these discounts with the new 3,4 or 5 day dining packages where Roysl assigns your first specialty dinner on the first or second night. Mark-Sheffield Posted April 19, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted April 19, 2016 That's a good point. RCI are really pushing the speciality package.

Mark-Sheffield Posted April 20, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted April 20, 2016 It looks like we will approach the Chops management when we get on board to see if they are doing a first night discount.

Regarding the D+ dining offer......We have found, more often than not, the ship has offered us to pay for the second BOGO dining by the first/second night, and then we can use the second offer any night of the cruise. Recently, when we make the BOGO reservation on the first afternoon of the cruise, staff will suggest we pay for the second offer and will allow a reservation any night. We never asked for any special consideration to use the second coupon, it has been a standard offer in the past year or so. We find it to be a very generous offer. There are a few instances that did not offer the extended benefit, and that is perfectly fine with us. I know the original question was not about the BOGO but about general discounts for all passengers. We have seen staff walking around the Windjammer, solarium, pool, on the first afternoon offering discounts for the first evening reservations. The discount is usually 20% off. Mark-Sheffield Posted April 20, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted April 20, 2016 That was my understanding in terms of a 20% discount. But i suppose if they get sufficient bookings on the first night then they won't offer the discount.
