Hornet441 Posted April 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2016 We are booked on a cruise out of SJ in Feb 17 and are flying in the day before the cruise, but the ship doesn't depart until 10 PM. Are there any hotels with a late check out?
ozarkmama Posted April 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2016 I don't know about late check out but most hotels will store your luggage for you. We did a tour to the rain forest with Ellis in the morning and then he took us to the ship around 4:00. Another option is to take your luggage to Barrachina restaurant in OSJ and let them store it while you walk around and see the sights.
PORT ROYAL Posted April 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 26, 2016 We are booked on a cruise out of SJ in Feb 17 and are flying in the day before the cruise, but the ship doesn't depart until 10 PM. Are there any hotels with a late check out? What time boarding start? El Convento or La Concha would be good choice hotels, but some prefer the Vanderbilt. Either would give you an excellent stay with a late checkout if required.
slidergirl Posted April 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2016 (edited) The hotels I have worked for (and work for now) would not do a late checkout that late without some kind of payment. My current hotel has a noon checkout: if available, up to 2pm free, after that, $100/hr until 6pm, then it's another day's fee. If you are with a chain and have status with the chain, you MAY get a 4pm checkout. Another factor that is huge in the late checkout availability (that normal people never consider) is whether or not your room is blocked for an arrival on your departure day. A late checkout won't happen in these cases, since the room has to be cleaned and made ready for the next arrival and the hotel wants that room to be ready as close to the posted check-in time as possible. Ask if it is possible to get any extra time; if no, just have the bell staff keep your bags until you are ready to leave for the ship.
