Hi All, we have a later boarding time (please no moaners about boarding times), we plane to park the car at the Mayflower terminal and walk into town for the afternoon, just as we would do if Southampton was a port of call, does any body know if it's a walkable distance or will we need a taxi?

It's just over a mile to the West Quay shopping centre, about 20-25mins walking time.

And not exactly awe inspiring, get a taxi.

Why not drive and park at West Quay, wander around the shops / have something to eat or drink, then when you feel the time is right head back to the car and drive to the terminal, 10 minute drive max - for us this worked really well.

Hi thanks for the info, we wouldn't want to park with the luggage in the car as we have a small boot and have to put luggage on the back seat.

I think we will park at Mayflower with CPS and either walk or catch a taxi into town for a few hours and enjoy Southampton:)

We must be the odd ones out as we quite like the walk from the town to the terminal. There are some historical things to see up by the Holiday Inn and the town centre has a good shopping area. (Enough to make hubby worried ;))

A good walk in if you are able to and if we have to have late embarkation on Ventura we will (reluctantly I have to say) drop our cases off and go for in to town for a few hours or so.

Last time we boarded we dropped our cases off at the terminal and drove into town, parked at the retail centre near West Quay. Then when we were ready we drove back to the port and dropped the car off - they were surprised we had no luggage! G.
