HoundMom4 Posted April 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2016 Can anyone tell me about The Gift show? I have a 9 year old and a 12 year old. Is it appropriate for that age group? I can't find anything online to tell me what it is about. Thanks!

Rare Turtles06 Posted April 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) Can anyone tell me about The Gift show? I have a 9 year old and a 12 year old. Is it appropriate for that age group? I can't find anything online to tell me what it is about. Thanks! It's a short musical with a nice set and lovely music. It's not inappropriate for kids those ages but I'm not sure how interested the kids would be in it, as the story line is very vague; the show is basically a life lesson, not one that I think would really resonate with young kids. (But it's short and free....) Edited April 30, 2016 by Turtles06

Ocean Dancer Posted April 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2016 The Gift is very gray and vague, a love story evolving around death with a message. It was very hard to follow. There will be a "Making of The Gift" playing on your TV. It may help you decide. I wish I had seen the TV show prior to attending The Gift as the TV show helped me understand it much better. Have a great cruise:)

Have a great cruise:) On the April 8 sailing the cruise director, Abe, explained the story line before the performance. It helped me enjoy the show. I would have been lost without his explanation. papcx Posted April 30, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2016 I can't understand why people don't get The Gift? The narrative from the very beginning explains exactly what's going on. And then it becomes a weird, wild ride, with a life affirming ending. It's brilliant. End of. No debate. And on topic, it's child friendly.
