Text on my phone from RCI - Boarding time change?

Our cruise is still over two weeks away on the Liberty of the Seas (May 22nd), but I just got a text from Royal Caribbean about "important information regarding your sailing..." They said "Please note that boarding for your cruise will now take place from 11:00am to 3:00pm. Liberty of the Seas will now depart Port of Galveston at 4:00PM".

 

I guess I don't see any different information here than what was already published. Is this just an informational thing or is there actually a change in time? I think the departure time has always been 4pm and same with the boarding time.

It's probably just a friendly reminder. 4:00 seems early. I think most other ports have the ships leaving at 5:00 - 6:00. Maybe they just want to remind you that your ship leaves earlier than those at other ports.

Our July 2017 sailing lists a 4:30 PM departure. We plan to arrive around 11 AM to board, it will be our first time out of Galveston.

Really? We're on the June 19 sailing and checkin is 11-3 with departure at 4:30.

I'd plan to arrive around 10:30 - 10:45 am.

Both times we sailed out of G we were on board having lunch before noon. Boarding time has always been 11. But all aboard time was 330. With sail away just after muster at 430. This is a shift to the left for departure so the ones who usually arrive late need to know they have less time to fiddle around
