Volendam and SR #2561

We will be boarding MS Volendam in Skagway for the last four days of our 16 day cruise tour. Looking for pro's/con's on Volendam and for any info on Stateroom 2561. We have early seating in the upper dining room. Only other HAL ship we have been on was the Ryndam - 7 day Caribbean cruise.

 

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a good location to me unless you get some people who ignore the No Jogging signs on the promenade. :)

If you remember the Ryndam, you'll feel you already know your way around when you board the Volendam. The two ships are quite similar in layout.

The Volendam has a mid-ship elevator/staircase, so there's no dead-end on Promenade Deck. BIG help there. Lido deck from the dining area extends to the outdoor pool on the same level, rather than down one deck.

Pinnacle Grill is down across from the movie theatre, rather than near the Explorers Lounge as it was on the Ryndam.

Those are the major structural differences.

 

You will find the same gracious service from the stewards.
