cruisinfanatic Posted May 12, 2016 #26 Share Posted May 12, 2016 The Crown is sailing the Inside Passage RT from Seattle. As you stated, cruises from Seattle sail in and out on the west side of Vancouver Island. Although it is called an Inside Passage cruise your ship will be in the Pacific for around 36 hours during your cruise. To make the itinerary the ships on this route need to sail out in the Pacific where they can sail at higher speeds. It is ironic that the Voyage of the Glaciers itinerary spends more time in the Inside Passage than the Inside Passage itinerary. The Crown is not out of Seattle this week
canuck13 Posted May 12, 2016 #27 Share Posted May 12, 2016 On this cruise, the port of departure was Vancouver.

Putterdude Posted May 12, 2016 #29 Share Posted May 12, 2016 Thanks for the correction. Once she had sailed her schedule no longer showed on the website. Therein lies the problem, for the itinerary last Friday the Crown did a full inside passage itinerary from Vancouver, missed the tide in Seymour Narrows due to manpower issues of the US CPB at Canada Place and therefore the time could not be made up. As the old adage goes "time and tide waits for no man".

Pierlesscruisers Posted May 13, 2016 #32 Share Posted May 13, 2016 Going to be on the Crown this Friday, hope they get everything figured out. Where can you find info when something like this happens? Someone may post a message on a thread here if they know somehow. Otherwise there is no sure way of finding out if/why really, at least not as far as I know. I found out about it because I sailed out of Vancouver on the Ruby the day after the problem with CBP occurred. There was a similar problem the day we sailed, it just wasn't as bad because it involved 2 ships not 3. Tom
