Short Carnival Glory Review 5/7/16

First off this was our 13th cruise and 6th with Carnival.

Arrived at port at 9:40 as we had 10:00 check in and also had FTTF. Dropped luggage off and the line for FTTF was right there. Waited 10 minutes and headed to check in. Easy and checked in by 10:00. Asked where we should wait and was told anywhere, no special waiting area for FTTF. Freezing cold in waiting area. Was a little after noon before they started boarding. What a mess. We were the first 20 to check in and maybe 500th to board. They did VIP and Diamond and Platinum then called FTTF, but people were already in line and they just pushed and shoved and boarded. So FTTF not worth it for boarding. Finally on board our room was ready, took 3 hours to receive luggage. Ate at Guy's that was very good. Now just some quick observations.

Breakfast buffet was standard but very good I did not ever have to wait in line.

Lunch options and food also very good. Was long lines at Guy's and Pizza pirate at certain times. Desserts were very good.

Main Dining Room food and service were a Big disappointment. Our servers were great but had too many tables to be able to give the personalized touch we were used to. The main food choices were very limited and food just was not good. Beef was always bad other than the shortribs. Food was always luke warm. Soups and desserts were very good.

Entertainment

Shows were Ok. Same entertainers singing and dancing each night to a different theme. We miss the magicians and jugglers and other specialized entertainers they used to bring on. 2 nights no entertainment. Had a Hasbro game that should have been held just in a lounge. Comedy shows were all Great! Down side they only lasted 30 minutes. They had a great band in the atrium, but I never did find a band in any lounge. Had the piano singer in the piano bar and a singer in the casino.

Bar service.

I know they were around but not once did I get offered a drink on deck. You were better off to go to the bar and order. Same with the show lounge, very few servers for so many people

Cabin steward

Ours was wonderful. Seen and talked to him every day. Service twice per day.

Disembarkation:

Once again figured to use our FTTF to get off early for our early flight. Assigned number 2. They started with self assist starting with deck 1. All these people fighting to get off with tons of luggage. Was about 20 minutes and they called for deck 2. Then said numbers 1,2,3 could also get off. Fought all the luggage to get off as we talked to many people that were driving home. Why do they get off first when we have an 11:30 flight and also paid extra for FTTF. Oh well. Down to find our luggage. Now comes on conveyor like the airport. Here was luggage with numbers 18 20 33 and finally our 2. Why they have luggage for groups not ever called yet I don't know.

Any way the cruise was enjoyed by both of us just lots of changes since our last one. Might be looking at a different line next time and hopefully will be better. I know they cut staff to keep costs down, But service has sure declined.

Any questions please ask I will be happy to give my honest opinion

Hmm...ive been considering purchasing FTTF. Might have to rethink it.

Did you have any trouble making your 11:30 flight? I just booked the same flight out after our cruise. Was thinking FTTF would help us get off the ship quicker, so we don't miss our flight.

When we got to the airport our flight had been delayed an hour. So no problem. We would have made the 11:30 as security was a breeze. I think FTTF would have been great if you used tenders. We just never got off the ship. They did give us zone 2 to get off but they started with the self assist which seemed weird to me. Enjoy your cruise as it was fun.
