Just a garden visit to Versailles?

We are doing a return overnight visit to Paris. We have been in Versailles but not to the gardens. Is it possible to do just a garden visit? Is it worth going just for the gardens when we only really have one full day (on past visits we have seen most of the other "must see" sites)? Is there a cost for just the gardens and a separate entrance? If so, are there still big lines? Sorry for all the questions but thank you for your advice!!

Here is the website. You might want to get the tickets to the gardens and the Trianon and Marie-Antoinette's palaces. This will not have long lines to go in. The gardens are wonderful, but it is your decision.

I've been twice and the gardens are the highlight for us! So much to explore. You can have a nice lunch in one of the restaurants, an organic gelato from a cart or fresh-squeezed OJ to enjoy. You can rent a boat or a bike and take the entire day and still not see it all.

Thank you for the responses. As i researched further, I found that it's closed on Monday. Yes, the day we will be there. Maybe next time…One can hope!
