mrstrumpinator Posted May 25, 2016 #51 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Loving your picture review! This is getting me excited for our turn in October. We are on a Barcelona to Athens 10 day, and I was wondering if you could tell me what days were your elegant nights? Thanks!

Rare Jamman54 Posted May 25, 2016 #53 Share Posted May 25, 2016 We wanted to avoid the buffet so we went directly to Cucina del Capitano for a pasta lunch. Let me warn you right now, this is directly below the basketball court and all you can hear is pounding of the ball echoing through this restaurant (as well as jiji's). Not sure if the basketball court is busy during dinner time but if you pay to eat in a nice restaurant you may be annoyed by the noise. Really?? You would have thought that with the same basketball court noise issue on the Breeze that they would have put padding underneath the basketball court this time! Do they close the basketball court at dinnertime like they do on the Breeze? Michelle236 Posted May 25, 2016 #54 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Really?? You would have thought that with the same basketball court noise issue on the Breeze that they would have put padding underneath the basketball court this time! Do they close the basketball court at dinnertime like they do on the Breeze? No worries about dinner time noise...we sailed the Breeze twice and they close the Basketball court from like 5 - 10. My kids would patiently await 10 oclock to hit so they could rush back up there for some soccer time :-)
Michelle236 Posted May 25, 2016 #55 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Lou - great pictures. Looking forward to seeing more. We haven't booked our Vista cruise yet for next year and all these reviews and pictures make me want to jump in and get it booked :)

cjnix29 Posted May 26, 2016 #59 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Excited for all the photos!! Since you were in the havana area.....one thing I keep looking at on the deck plans....the havana cabanas....did you get any pics from the decks of those. I am concerned about privacy and the ability to just watch the sea from the patio!! Any pics or thoughts on this!?
poobears Posted May 26, 2016 #60 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Love the pics and the great review so far. It's a very pretty ship inside, especially like the accent pillows, those are a nice touch. It's a very ugly ship on the exterior though, guess that comes with making it so large, from the outside it doesn't look like anything I would want to be on for a week or two. Happy to see inside is much nicer lol Keep the review coming :)
loupana Posted May 26, 2016 Author #61 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Excited for all the photos!! Since you were in the havana area.....one thing I keep looking at on the deck plans....the havana cabanas....did you get any pics from the decks of those. I am concerned about privacy and the ability to just watch the sea from the patio!! Any pics or thoughts on this!? Yes I have some pics coming of that area, don't think you have a sea view like a balcony but I can say no one really walks down that area. I just peaked in at a time I knew no one would be in there cabins yet and only took a photo of a patio that had the curtains closed. I must say when I changed my cabin to a Havana inside there were two cabana cabins left and I wish I would have took one. I think I would like the patio and the option of coming into my cabin from the patio door. I absolutely loved the havana pool area and those cabins with easy access to the havana pool and hot tubs I think would be fantastic.
loupana Posted May 26, 2016 Author #62 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Thanks for pictures of the room. Besides the storage I'd you find the space tight for 2? It is a little tight at the bathroom door and closet, if someone is in the closet and someone is coming out of the bathroom look out...but for the most part we were very pleased with the room. I like the desk area and then you have the other table top below the TV and above the fridge which is nice to have that extra place to drop your stuff on. Also must say I loved that the mini fridge is empty not like other cruise lines when it's full of junk that we always ask to be emptied for us. loupana Posted May 26, 2016 Author #63 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Ocean Plaza on deck five is a great area, always stop to see entertainment on our way back to our room. This is where Velvet Vibe play daily, then they area also in the Liquid Lounge show America Rocks. Always enjoyed watching them. While docked in Barcelona they brought on some Flemenco Dancers to perform, they were very good. More on Ocean Plaza later...
scott_gallant Posted May 26, 2016 #64 Share Posted May 26, 2016 I must say Carnival really makes it easy for you to find your way around, when using the stairs the floor number is printed at the foot of each floor. Entrance to rooms say Odd or Even, makes it easy for first time cruisers who may not know port or starboard We stayed in a Havana Inside Cabin on deck 5. We absolutely loved this location and the Havana area but here is another warning, you can hear the music from the Havana bar. It did not bother us but I'm sure some people were at guest services complaining. Thanks for your report and photos on the Havana interior. We are booked in one in February, 2017. Would you book this cabin again, or would the noise hold you back? Did the noise keep you up at night? You think ear plugs would drown out the noise? 100 questions lol Thanks again. Loving your review. The cabin looks beautiful.

Loving your review. The cabin looks beautiful. Whether it's right or wrong I'm one of those people that falls asleep with the tv on so it never bothered me. You can hear the music but it wasn't really that loud. The sound could be worse if your cabin wall was right next to where the stage is. I would defiantly book this cabin again. Like I said I just loved this area and quick access to the Havana pool. Horizons dining room, limelight, quick elevator ride and you're in Marketplace buffet or for us, turn to the tides pool area and hit the pizza spot for a midnight snack. 13cheermom Posted May 26, 2016 #69 Share Posted May 26, 2016 Great memories, we also stayed at this hotel in 2013 when we sailed the Carnival Sunshine in the med. We also really enjoyed the hotel, food, and especially the location it was so convenient to walk around and explore on our own. I would love to go back to Barcelona and spend some extra time there. Love seeing your pics as I remember some of the same places that you visited. Can't wait to read the rest!:)
loupana Posted May 26, 2016 Author #70 Share Posted May 26, 2016 For dinner on Night one we choose to take advantage of the free bottle of wine at Fahrenheit 555. We enjoyed everything so much we booked a second dinner for May 21st.

loupana Posted May 26, 2016 Author #74 Share Posted May 26, 2016 After dinner we took in the Welcome Aboard Show in the Liquid Lounge The Liquid Lounge has a very odd setup. Chairs placed all over and around other booths or theater seating. Some seats in the back are lower than the seats in front of them so there is no way to see the stage. Here's a view from a booth at the back of the theater Every second theater seat has this odd shelf thing, not sure what to call it but it is in the way and I can’t sit comfortably with it.
