Swissguy69 Posted May 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 25, 2016 Does anyone have any recent experience with storing bags at the San Basilio cruise ship terminal in Venice? Their website says they have it, but I saw a post on TripAdvisor saying that it doesn't exist. Has anyone tried storing bags there recently or have other first hand knowledge? Our ferry to Croatia leaves in the late afternoon, so we'd be dropping off our bags early in the day. Yes, we could store our bags at our hotel until we leave Venice, but it'd be super inconvenient due to location so I'm trying to avoid that. Rare cruisemom42 Posted May 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 25, 2016 I have been in and out of San Basilio (the smaller ships tend to go there), but I did not notice any luggage storage. The port facility and building is fairly small. It may be that I just didn't look for it, or it may be in a separate area. Or, it may not be there at all... Having said that -- which isn't much help -- San Basilio is right next to the Marittima port and not that far by either taxi or vaporetto from Piazzale Roma. Perhaps a solution for you might be to leave your luggage at the luggage storage facility at Piazzale Roma, retrieve it there at the end of the day, then either take a short taxi ride or take the #2 vaporetto to San Basilio. The vaporetto stop is not far at all from the main port building.
