rhume55 Posted May 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Wife has special diet needs. Went on Carnival cruises in the past, with assigned time dining, and the special attention wife received was great. Hostess sat with her with the next day's breakfast/lunch/dinner menu and they picked out and built specific suitable meals for her. Love Carnival for that! We're thinking of going on Norwegian Escape in July 2016. Norwegian only has Freestyle dining (plus specialty restaurants). QUESTION: Will Norwegian be as attentive to wife's dietary needs as Carnival was? Thanks!
Clarea Posted May 27, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 27, 2016 ... QUESTION: Will Norwegian be as attentive to wife's dietary needs as Carnival was? Thanks! I would also ask on the NCL forum here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=107 More folks reading that forum would likely have experience with special needs diets on NCL. rhume55 Posted May 27, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted May 27, 2016 You should get the same kind of attention on NCL...contact their "special needs" dept. prior to your trip! Will do. Since the Carnival dining was at a set time, we had the same table at the same time every night. So the hostess found us easily, the chefs could have the special dish prepared for that time. My concern is with Freestyle dining being so casual, people coming and going whenever they like, it would likely be more difficult to get the same structured attention. But I'll check into with the cruise line too.
