Jolie_Cruiser Posted June 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Hello to all, Tom Sheridan, devoted fellow cruiser, recently published another one of his port guides, this time on Dominica. As usual, it is free and contains no publicity. It contains maps, pictures, GPS coordinates, suggestions for things to see etc. Here is the link: http://www.tomsportguides.com/uploads/5/8/5/4/58547429/dominica-05-30-2016.pdf

roothy123 Posted June 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2016 I love his guides. Didn't know he did one on Dominica. I'm going to his website to see what he said. I took one of Levi's tours (Bumpiing, I think) and then just walked around a bit. It would have been nice to have had more information back then to make the most of my afternoon. It's a pretty island but the town is quite modest.

As I have detailed at: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2253384 we super enjoyed our day on this amazing island, with its nice residents, unique architecture and great natural areas. THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio From our Jan. 25-Feb. 20, 2015, Amazon River-Caribbean combo sailing over 26 days that started in Barbados, here is the link below to that live/blog. Lots of great visuals from this amazing Brazil river and these various Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, etc.) that we experienced. roothy123 Posted May 27, 2017 #9 Share Posted May 27, 2017 That site is fabulous.. had not come across it, just spent hours reading some of his many guides!! Yes, his guides are great, and he doesn't get paid for them, just does them because he wants to. I would do something like that if I had time. Only thing to keep in mind, perhaps, is that occasionally he doesn't make it 100% clear that just because one cruise ship docks in one particular place on one particular cruise it means all cruise ships dock there. It's not a big deal if you're taking a ship's excursion or hiring a guide. However, if you're really independent and like to go off on your own, there might be a slight surprise or two.
