sross6019 Posted June 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2016 Will be in Cayman with my mother-in-law who uses a walker or wheelchair. Any recommendations for excursions? She enjoys birds and cooking.
cb at sea Posted June 11, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 11, 2016 GC is a tender port....as long as she can walk off and on the tender, she can go ashore. Get a guidebook on GC...you'll find EVERYTHING that's available! And, info on disabilities. Libraries have guidebooks, if you'd rather not buy one! And, then, ask her what she wants to do! sross6019 Posted June 11, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted June 11, 2016 She told me you plan it all but I am getting recommendation to present to her. She lives 350 miles away so it is hard to plan.
drew sailbum Posted June 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2016 The Cayman Turtle Farm has an aviary in the back part of the park as well as a small nature trail area. She might enjoy seeing a variety of tropical birds including our national bird, the Cayman Parrot. The pathways in the park are paved so navigating by wheelchair would be possible. The aviary is at the far end of the park from the entrance so using a walker might depend a bit on her stamina. Note: Entrance to the back part of the park is not included in many tour packages which focus on the turtle tanks at the front of the park. You would need to buy a full park pass (available as the Turtle Adventure Tour on the Cayman Turtle Farm website or at the park itself).
