Juneau with younger kids

My wife and older daughter are taking a helicopter tour, so I'll have the 8 and 11 year olds with me (no interest in the helicopter) so I'm trying to find something they'd enjoy. We're only there from 7-1:30, any suggestions would be appreciated.

mendenhall glacier is an easy option. Hike to Nuggett Falls.

a whale watching excursion is the usual choice in Juneau, unless you're doing it at Icy Strait.
