Sheltered Cabin 6083 on the QM

I don't know about this specific cabin, but we've sailed in sheltered balcony cabins many times and liked them. People say they can get very warm in a warm climate, but in both the Caribbean and Australia (their summer) we did not find it to be uncomfortable.

Sailing out of New York in November, you'll be able to get some use from your balcony right away. The more open glass-fronted balconies can be windy and cooler.

The only minus I can think of is that there might be construction in your "neighborhood" as the refit continues on the go.

The cruise is a 12 night Caribbean cruise in November.

August will be our 6th sailing in a sheltered balcony cabin - all of them TA. We choose deck 5 - which has cabins above and below but generally in the location of your cabin on deck 6. We tend to use the public rooms more in this area, library, commodore club, Royal Court Theater and the Canyon Ranch Spa.

If you look at the deck plan - where there are double lines, this is a firewall. There will be a set of fire doors folded into the wall outside this cabin.

Instead of a partition that is about 3/4 high between balconies, this one reaches to the top (on one side). It affords you more privacy when you are on your balcony but you are not able to see the ocean when you are seated.
