We booked the Cozumel plus excursion to "Ancient Tulum with beach club with lunch." It is a new excursion with Carnival so there are no reviews yet. Just curious if anyone has done it yet and how was experience? Thx!

Lots of cruise tours go to Tulum on the mainland and then include beach time and maybe lunch. It is a long day involving a ferry ride from Coz to PDC (about 45+ minutes, a bus to Tulum, tour, whatever else they include (beach and lunch) and then revers the trip to get back to your ship on Coz.

Interesting tour if you will likely never get back to the mainland - other ruins (Coba etc.) are better IMHO and you will not have much time to explore on these tours. Your call! :)

Cozumel Plus excursions on Carnival are new. They seem to head to places more difficult to get to and supposedly allow a bit more time. Regular ship excursions to Tulum are a bit rushed.

That said, Tulum has great views and while not as large as Coba or Chichen Itza, for people just wishing to experience a Maya ruins site, well worth time there, if not rushed.
