jessybell Posted June 18, 2016 #26 Share Posted June 18, 2016 Probably best speaker we have heard over the years was last year on Queen Victoria when we were treated to Clare Balding....she enthralled the Americans aboard with her tales of the Royal Family visiting her childhood home for breakfast....her father trained their racehorses ....and showed wonderful photos of those times. It was standing room only at each session.
Luvs2Crooze Posted June 19, 2016 #27 Share Posted June 19, 2016 We had Murray Walker and Terry Waite a few years ago, very interesting. However went on Oceana last April we had none.
Sea Green Posted June 20, 2016 #28 Share Posted June 20, 2016 It does seem to be a bit pock luck, and dependant on the number of sea days. My 7 day Fjords cruise only had 2 sea days, we had Matt Monroes daughter talking about his life and career (actually just reading from the book she had written) which was just OK. But on my 14 day Baltics cruise we had Ron Gatepain, who was a very engaging public speaker, doing a series of lectures on Russian history and architecture. And an art expert, whose name I don't remember, doing talks on Baltic amber, laquerwork boxes etc. Really hoping I get to hear some of the people mentioned in the comments now!
