I also heard the have face up black jack(no hole card) can someone explain the rule differences here?! Also how is the bj tournament usually structured and are there multiple? Thank you!!! We've been on the Pride 4 times; most recently in February 2016. We both play Blackjack, and DH likes live Poker. Blackjack cards (2) are dealt face-up and if I recall, it wasn't any different than other NJ casinos. I think the dealer has to pull to seventeen. I think. I know I played the way I usually play. I know I split and doubled-down. There was 1 roulette table, or maybe 2. The poker (Texas Hold'em) was electronic. DH was not a big fan. I was in one blackjack tournament in 2014, and I think there were other tournaments throughout the cruise. If you can get your hands on the daily activities for each day, it may tell you whether there's more than one tournament. Others here may be able to be more knowledgeable. Hope this info helps a little.

NHL Philly Fan Posted August 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Can you describe the details of this "Electronic" LIVE poker please? That kind of is self contradictory.
Thehyperfisherman Posted August 4, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted August 4, 2016 Can you describe the details of this "Electronic" LIVE poker please? That kind of is self contradictory. Its a a table with 10 seats each seat has a private screen and one big one in the middle. Its dealt like a poker game and you play with other people at the table just no actual dealer all electronic
skywalkr2 Posted August 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2016 My comment on the Pride casino... the smokiest of all Carnival Casinos IMO.

aekblade Posted August 4, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 4, 2016 How about craps? Whats the max/min bet on the table? Anyone know the odds? 2x?
DCCruiser1013 Posted August 5, 2016 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2016 How about craps? Whats the max/min bet on the table? Anyone know the odds? 2x? Every time I've played craps on Carnival (including the Pride), minimum bet is $5 - I don't have the slightest idea what the max is. They allow 2x odds. caddykid12 Posted August 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted August 7, 2016 Just did a 14 day in March on the pride. Great casino. Loose slots. Handbag jackpots going off left and right! Quick hit quarter machine near leanne's desk is a hot machine. As for face up blackjack DO NOT PLAY. Pushes are a loss. If you have a 20 and dealer has 20... YOU MUST HIT or you lose with a push. Blackjack also pays even money. Horrible odds. Increases the house % by 6% As for the smoke. All casinos on ships are smokey. Not a big deal. There are 20 to 30 chairs near the bar where everyone lights up so that side can be a lil foggy
RecoveryDude Posted August 8, 2016 #11 Share Posted August 8, 2016 I was on the Pride in February. I quit smoking last August (after 30 years) and actually I did not notice the smoke, so it was not "that bad" while I was there. I played craps and it was COLD every time I played! Never a hot table, not sure why. Also, it was RARELY a $5 table ... most times it was $10 which I didn't enjoy as much ... maybe that's why it was not busy and was so cold. The "Gold Bar" machine was one of the hottest machines I've ever seen on a ship. I won tons on that machine ... played mostly $1.50 per spin and won several hundred over the course of the week. It ALWAYS had someone sitting at it. If it's open, give it a try. Cheers! Jeff aka Recovery Dude
