Rare teacherman Posted June 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 19, 2016 We are considering a cruise on Anthem, next April, for 4 adults and 2 children (ages 6 and 9). Are there extra charges for the many "fun" things (bumper cars, skating, Fly "thing", north star, etc)? Do the children in Adventure Ocean get taken to these venues, or do they just stay in the "club" and do activities there? There would be 2 adults and 2 children in one state room, most likely an inside. It seems like the children would be sleeping on a pull out couch. Does that get made up each night by the attendant? Does it take up a lot of the room when pulled out? We are considering this cruise because airfares to Florida at that time will cost more than a cruise from Ft Lauderdale will and we can drive one loooong day to Bayonne from our home. We are Diamond, but the two other adults and children will be on their first cruise. Is this ship a good idea for that, or should we seek a more "traditional" type ship? Any information/advice is welcome. Thank you.

Pull out couch or pullmans will be made up at night and taken down in the morning by your stateroom attendant. Just a thought, you can always split up you and your spouse so both rooms would get the diamond discount ($225 for a 7 day cruise) if you opted for balconies which would give the party of 4 more room. Not sure what the price difference is. You can make reservations for everything, nothing, some things, or just go "stand by". I found that flexibility refreshing and it probably works well with kids. I like that suggestion. The DO obstructed balconies on deck 6 are often a good deal for getting extra cabin real estate.
Ocean Dancer Posted June 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 19, 2016 I see you are a seasoned cruiser. So are we, and the Anthem was a totally different cruising experience than we have ever experienced before. IMO, it is best to reserve everything, all dinners and shows on your cruise planner months before you sail since you have 6 people. Anthem is awesome.....go for it!!:)
