JW and Jerome's Adventure on The Norwegian Escape

Recommended Posts

When I was a Roll Call Leader and coordinated the Slot Pulls (18 of them) I would hold the Slot Pull immediately following the Meet and Greet, usually that takes place at 10 or 11 am (can't think if you posted that yet) and on The Escape, the M&G is usually in Cagney's.

I would let everyone know to gather in the Sky Line (so we can take advantage of our UBP) after the M&G and then we would go to the pre-selected machine. The evening prior, I had already introduced myself to the Casino Host and she suggested the most popular machine (Wheel of Fortune) and most choose that. But, I do know that for giggles, the Babies Slot Machine (Touch the Babies) seems to be the one getting the slot pull action these days because of my reviews and everyone wanting to "Touch The Babies". The Casino Host also had prizes for us, bottles of champagne, tee shirts, key chains etc for us as well, to give to the person who had the highest win on their spin or who got a bonus.

Rusty (Baryton), who is on our roll call here, on our last Escape sailing coordinated the roll call and the slot pull and did an awesome job, considering that we had over 100 folks on the roll call. Although, and he can chime in here anytime, he said it's a whole lot of work.

Jerome and I will be at the Meet and Greet.

OK, since JW invited me to "chime in", we had 47 on the slot pull. We did Wheel of Fortune at $15 each. Everyone got 5 spins (Max $3). We went through twice each, by that time we had spent just over an hour. We did get a couple $400 hits. By agreement we stopped with $470 cash out, and everyone got $10 back. It was enjoyable and lots of drinks and socializing.

I am sure touching the babies will be even more fun. We will have to wait and see.

  • 2 weeks later...

We have just 31 days left for the continuation and final sailing of the JW and Jerome's Adventures aboard The Norwegian Escape.

So you can follow along, we are in a Secret Extra Large Balcony Mini Suite again, and though we have received the Norwegian Upgrade Advantage email, uh, thank you so much, but well, we love our location and our mega huuuuuge balcony.

This time we are in Mini Suite 8726, on the opposite side from our other two cabins we previously sailed in, and it has a triangle in the deck plan so the bed should be by the closet. We will certainly be doing a video of the cabin, as well as we will be filming many video vignettes for everyone.

Oh My Goodness, I am going to TINKLE!!!!!! Thirty One days until the Trilogy!

Thirty Two days until the "Touch The Babies" Slot Pull!

And if you are just joining us for the first time, or are a continuation reader, for some ungawdly reason, all of our pics that were in this review are not showing up. Particularly all the photos of the crew, VIBE and our excursions. It happened at the change over. Somehow they are magically deleted. I am hoping that they will magically reappear.

Please let me know if you can see a picture on the first post. Perhaps it is just my program.

Thanks.

JW

Hey you two - Lady JW and Jerome! Been loving your review - you two are great fun!

One favour from you two ... s'il vous plait ... before you start the 3rd of the trilogy ... my colleague and her family were on your Escape cruise last August and they had a ball of a time on her (better than the Oasis of the Seas ;)), and she sent pics on her facebook of THAT artist who happened to be on the Escape and painted a canvas picture while in the Atrium .... she (my colleague) isn't on Cruise Critic, so can you tell us of this event here?

The artist is Guy Harvey and he is the "Statesman" for The Norwegian Escape as his artwork adorns the outside of the ship. He was in the Atrium completing a gorgeous panel for display on The Escape and was also signing Guy Harvey Tee Shirts, Polo shirts (available on board for purchase) and anything else that passengers had with his name on it. We were all strongly suggested to contribute to his charity as well, to get an autograph. No worries, he signed Jerome's short sleeve shirt we bought at Guy Harvey's store, in Grand Cayman on a previous cruise, and we gleefully gave a contribution to his Marine Wildlife charity.

He was on almost every sailing thru October until the artwork was completed. I understand that he will be back on our sailing upcoming over Easter, March 25th. He is a wonderful man, a genius in our midst.

Thank you JW for this most excellent review! My husband and I booked on the Escape for next January, and since we booked, we have gone from a party of 2 to a party of 16! My husband and I booked on of the AFT view balconies, my youngest sister and her husband booked one next door to me, my middle sister booked two inside cabins right by our cabins and her friend (with family) and friend's brother (with family) booked next door to each other by one of the bump outs. You have given me so many ideas of what to do on this ship and I'm sure I will be re-reading your reviews over and over before we sail.

Have an excellent time on your next cruise and hopefully you will be sharing that one with us again!

Hi guys! So glad you are back. We spoke several times outside the vibe (I had a vibe pass and spent almost every minute there). I am sorry that I missed some of the antics but no doubt about the perfect storm comment. I sailed the Breakaway over Thanksgiving and it was mediocre at best. Ill be back on the Escape during Easter break, April 8th and again for a few weeks in August. I certainly hope our paths cross again, ideally in the Vibe. Looking forward to some more stories. Have fun on your next "Escape". Say hello to Rommel in the vibe.

Can't believe we are the week before you and we sail March 25th for the final Trilogy of our Adventures. This next one will be our 48th cruise. Our 49th is on The Celebrity Silhouette on December 17th and then the Grand Adventure, our 50th cruise, will most certainly be a well attended fan club of JW and Jerome's past Adventure Guests, and that will be on the brand spanking new MSC Seaside, which sails on March 31st of 2018.

I remember talking to you and we had so much fun that afternoon. Thanks for sticking with us in VIBE Lite.

Sounds like you all are going to have one heck of a Par-Tay. Enjoy and I hope all of you have the unlimited beverage package.

As the Norwegian Escape Trilogy cruise (March 25th, 2017) gets closer, Jerome and I were talking last night about how many cruises we have taken in the last 17 years or so. This Norwegian Escape sailing will be our 48th cruise. Forty-Eight. We laughed as we remember so many, but others, are just a post script in our lives. We remember the first cruise, of course. We remember the outstanding and memorable sailings and Cruise Critic groups, hundreds of which are still great friends of ours and we still cruise with as time permits. We remember the truly less than positive cruises, the not-so-good experiences that are forever burned in our minds. But then there are the sailings that neither one of us have much of a memory of, "Did we really sail on that ship?" "We must have, there are pictures!" I can't even tell you what the cabin looked like back then. Funny, the only Officers and Crew I remember the most, having given us the ultimate positive lasting impressions are only on Norwegian, and one Cruise Director from Carnival.

These vignettes of our early cruising days are remarkably absent because we were not aware yet or have Cruise Critic back then. I am so glad I found this forum. It has changed our lives and our vacation experiences. It has uplifted and reminded me that I am not the only crazy one out there that adores cruises as our vacation choice and can't wait for the next one. Cruise Critic is a way of life and a plethora of Cruise Reference provided for and by, the common man and woman. We are all cruise enthusiasts and enjoy reading about and sharing our experiences in a safe, positive online environment that truly is an exciting joy to click on to when I get home from a long days work. Or when hunkered down with the flu, Cruise Critic is my NyQuil. Nights I have had insomnia, I have been known to post at 3AM. I love to be able to sign on and click away and laugh, cry and sometimes TINKLE with excitement. I love to participate and be a part of this grand community. I am so proud to get such amazing feedback from folks that like what I have experienced and written about. Wow. Cruise Critic is awesome. Thank you all for being here.

48 cruises. Incredible.

Our 49th cruise, will be on The Celebrity Silhouette on December 17th, and that one will be JW and Jerome's Birthday Adventure (It's my Birthday cruise, first one ever! Sadly my birthday falls right at Christmas and I despise birthdays around the Holidays, everyone forgets my birthday with all he hub bub hustle and bustle of the Holidays) so that should be fun seeing a ship all decorated for the Christmas Season for the first time.

Our 50th cruise, what I will call The Grand 50th JW and Jerome's Adventure will be on the brand new, Inaugural Season of The MSC Seaside on March 31st, 2018. It is going to be a JW and Jerome's Adventure that will surely be off the chain. We are making arrangements to have so many folks who have sailed with us before, and so many who want to sail with us, come and embark on our extraordinary Adventure for our monumental 50th Cruise on The High Seas.

Wow. 50 cruises. Gawd I hope my liver holds out for all these Unlimited Beverage Packages yet to come so we can get to 100 Cruises!

Thank you Cruise Critic! Thank you all who enrich our lives and participate! More, yes, much more to come.

What a great review. I wish we were sailing with you and Jerome in March! I've found the best cruises we've been on have all been due to the people we've met. Unfortunately, we don't sail until the end of August on the Escape (which I'm now really looking forward to), but I am off to check out your 49th and 50th sailings....

Well guys, I haven't met you, but I know we'd have many a laugh! And as excited I am for our (my 17 yr old daughter and I) upcoming Escape cruise, I'm sad we're just missing you by a few weeks - we're sailing on the Escape March 11. And I must thank you for your advice, commentary, tales and entertainment! You are awesome and inspiring! While my crappy bBackberrry limits my live posting ability, I will commit to following up, given all the great advice I've received!
