Another-Adventure Posted June 21, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 21, 2016 We will be at sea on Sunday, and I was wondering if there is any sort of religious services offered? I realize that it would most likely be led by a volunteer clergy. Several years ago, we were on a Disney cruise which provided such a service led by a crew member who had volunteered to organize it. We were very surprised at the attendance and positive response from fellow cruisers! It was a brief (maybe 20 minutes) get together consisting of a few songs and short devotion. Clarea Posted June 21, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 21, 2016 If there is someone on board who wishes to officiate at a service, Royal will make space available. However, they normally do not have services, except on Christmas, Easter, and transatlantic cruises.
Langley Cruisers Posted June 21, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 21, 2016 It seems these days, they run a video (usually Joel Osteen) on the stateroom TV or perhaps in the theater. If so, it is listed in the printed Cruise Compass as a non-denominational service and it really varies from ship to ship.
Rare rafinmd Posted June 21, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2016 I'd say it's usually a Joel Osteen video, but there is (or at least has been) one fairly regular cruiser who has organized services on ships sailing from Baltimore. He probably sails a few times a year so it's real hit or miss. (2of my 5 Enchantment/Grandeur sailings and I think I've been luckier than most). He's a layman but organizes a decent service.
