anitabrad Posted June 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2016 I read that Carnival allows luggage 16 x 24.....my luggage is 25 x 18....is that okay, or are they really strict with the dimensions? Thanks!
SadieN Posted June 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2016 The passthru of the scanner is a touch bigger than 16x24. Most regular luggage is 25x18x9. That's fine as it would lay down to go thru the scanner. Your luggage is fine, a 24x24x24 box is not. mondello Posted June 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2016 The length of your luggage while laying flat to go through the scanner is not an issue. I'm assuming the 25" is neither the width nor depth of your luggage.
riffatsea Posted June 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2016 Where did you read that about luggage size? There is no real size limit for carry on luggage. It is just whatever you can carry yourself that will fit through the normal scanners. I think there is some sort of weight limit for checked baggage because of what the porters will be able to lift but noone weighs the carry on or checks size. summersigh Posted June 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 26, 2016 In the summer DH and I cruise with a 22" suitcase each that we check and a totebag each that we carry on. In the winter we share one 22" and one 28" suitcase to accommodate some warmer clothes plus the totebags. We've never had a problem checking the 28" suitcase and as I looked down the hallway on the last night of our cruises I see many other 28" cases ready to go. Wheatie59 Posted June 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 26, 2016 Stated luggage sizes (e.g., 28", 26") are usually the largest dimension. That doesn't matter to Carnival for carry on luggage. What matters are the two smallest dimensions. As long as the two smallest dimensions are under the 16"x24" size limit you'll be fine. Your luggage just has to go through the screening machine.
