bibiinri Posted June 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2016 I am booked on Prinsendam Athens Oct. 20 thru to FLL Nov. 20, the highlight of which is two days in the Holy Land. I have just learned from my TA that this is "likely" to come off the itinerary. Does anyone have any information on this? It will be so disappointing if the rumor is true. jhannah Posted June 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2016 I haven't heard anything; but if there is unrest in the area then the ship will alter its itinerary accordingly. You may want to go to travel.state.gov and check there for travel advisories. They regularly issue them for areas where they suggest U.S. citizens either not go or exercise extra caution if they do. You can also enroll in a service where the State Department can keep you apprised of events that may affect travel in the area where you're going. baggal Posted June 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2016 If your heart is set on visiting Israel, then you should book a land vacation there and not depend on a cruise ship making port stops there. Israeli port cancellations are not uncommon.
Despegue Posted June 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 26, 2016 And what is the "Holy Land" then? If you mean The Vatican, the place of the "Holy See", then there is no risk that they will cancel Civitavecchia ( Port of Rome). If you mean with " Holy Land" Israel and The State of Palestine, yes, then I guess that this port of Call ( probably Haifa in Israel), might be cancelled if there is a new wave of atrocities comitted by the various parties involved.
