I guess the difference is, most people are in the dining room to eat at the same time, including me, and the hours are limited.

 

The Lounge-different situation, plus, you had the atrium to amplify the sound.

 

The Countess also had fabric walls in the halls, which helped dampen noise.

You are probably right. I also think most of the noise passed through the door to the suite as opposed to the walls. The noise was not a problem for us though. We were so tired from all the walking and touring we had no trouble falling asleep almost instantly.
