Beach for Seniors

Looking for a soft sandy beach with calm water basically just for swimming, and an area that is well shaded where we can rent chairs, and a restaurant. Not interested in snorkeling. Recommendations please.

It's hard to get that ideal powdered sugar-sand beach that is well-shaded with calm water and has all the amenities you want. But there are 5 very nice beaches that check off some of your boxes, all have lounges.

Secret Harbor, which is home to a condo property, is a small, very calm bay where you can rent lounges and umbrellas, and there is a nice restaurant on the beach. Shade can be a problem without an umbrella because day visitors are restricted to a specific area of the beach.

Magens is a very calm bay, much larger than SH with lounge rentals and some shade. Small restaurant serves basic food and a runner delivers nice drinks. Very popular and busy beach.

Sapphire is home to 3 condo properties and is usually calm although it can be rougher depending on conditions. Lounges, abundant natural shade, no real restaurant on the beach but the Banana Cabana beach grill serves excellent mahi mahi and other sandwiches along with great tropical drinks and beer. Also the Sapphire Village restaurant behind the marina. Runners from both places take orders on the beach.

Coki has several vendors and is a small bay with a busier vibe. Lounges, food & drink options, typically calm but depends on conditions, some shade.

Lindbergh Bay (aka Emerald Beach) Has a nice restaurant and beach bar, lounges, umbrella for shade, typically calm water, planes overhead, close to Crown Bay.

And Honeymoon Beach on Water Island is a small bay and usually quite calm, two beach restaurants and a busier vibe when tours stop in, free lounges, some with umbrellas, otherwise no shade.

I suggest Magens or Emerald Beach. Magens will be crowded depending on number of ships, but Emerald is less crowded because fewer taxis like to go there. The hotels at the property can call a cab for you when you're ready to return to ship if not one waiting at Emerald.
