Dodgeball? On the Magic

I just booked a cruise on the magic, and saw that there is dodgeball. Is this something new? Do people really do this? Does anyone have a personal story about this?

We just got off the Magic Saturday & dodgeball was a huge event on the ship. We watched grown men & women play the game competitively. There was always a big crowd of spectators. Rules had to be followed and there was a referee (CD staff) for the game too. Quite entertaining!
