Quick review of the Glory. Lots of good and interesting things on this trip. I will keep it short plus got to meet Stormin Norman

SHIP clean, warm in some areas, had the 2.0 upgrades. She did show signs of wear but she's a old gal. Smoke in the casino area was heavy.

Boarding. Fast check in and than on board by 1115 thank you diamond

Cabin balcony like always bigger than other lines cabins good location on deck 6. Cabin Stewart right on. She did a great job and Serviced the room 2 times a day

Food day time. Good selections were nice. Also had guys burgers which are tasty always a line for them. This ship features the fish and chips great taste in all the dishes their plus never a line

Dinner here we go. AMERICAN TABLE 1st time I have been on a ship with this LOVED It can't wait to be on a cruise again with it. We Sat late seating with a nice couple from Miami food was good. Best was the short rib so tender worst the prime rib very dry. Wait staff excellent. Carlos head waiter over 20 years with carnival and it showed very good at his job

Dress code well folks carnival new thought in my mind. Do what you want. Most night hats jogging shorts and wife beaters were present in the dining room I get it its vacation

Cruise elegant night outfits seen. Daisy duke shorts with a bikini top a group of them . Shorts more than I can count some nice a lot of jogging. Same group of people wearing hats and wife beaters. Most of the not dressed to suggestions people were visible from our table and they stayed at dinner with no problem. My hats off to the rest who were dressed to be in a dining room .

Open decks. Late rising ship no problem with getting chairs not a lot of chair hogs. Serenity

Wasn't to busy most sea days

Entertainment shows were good. Bands and singers oodles. Did not see any of the comics but was told they were good

Bar staff were all good happy. Did not see a lack of servers around never had a problem getting a drink

Smoking casino was smokey did try on 2 nights to have a cigar on deck 10 but the pot smokers were plentiful. Also if you smell skunk in the hall way it's the new synthetic pot. We were given a lesson by a neighbor. No did not go running to security it's not my job.

Ports.

Half Moon Cay. Tender operation smooth. We had cabana #9 water was great service good. We were in the water talking to others when we noticed the VILLA next to our cabana was still vacant this is when we watched the looting ,stealing ,robbery ,dishonest people have a field day. First person walks in comes running out with all the bottles of water to her group. Over the next 10 minutes same group of men and women go and help them selfs to all the snorkelers equipment, floats, rafts and towels. Large group of people many in the water witnessed this. Later when the family arrived 2ho rented it the staff had to scramble to replenish all the stuff. Did see one man point out the people who took the items. Smh at this

St thomas like always great day not to hot great sights. Lots of shopping

San Juan did a self trip with a local guide great value and learned a lot. Plus good food

Grand Turk walked the beach to jack shack. Less people better prices. We were in port with the magic

Internet / carnival hub. Did not use it no report

Apple picking spoke to the chief purser at the vip party he said there were several reports of this that occurred in the dico. Remember just cause your on vacation you have to be alert

Premier casino group. I was a part of it. Won a few extras. Casino staff was ok. The auto shufflers on black jack were very tight. As for slots several jackpots were paid out

Overall a fun trip met some great people. Will some of the bad things keep me away from carnival NO. Just have to remember your on vacation those who want to take advantage of a situation will no matter where.

Fell free to bash it makes me stronger

Happy 4th of July to all. Now we set sail on the Fantasy tomorrow

Sadly this type of thing happens. My wife and I rented Cabana #10 on HMC and after coming back from being in the water we found two our the four water floats missing ( we had two of them in the water ) and the two that were missing some jerk and his wife decided they'd take them and lay on them under the hammock they also claimed beside the Cabana.

I had a talk with the gentleman and informed him that those floats belong to the Cabana and that you can't just take stuff that doesn't belong to you. He got kind snippy back to me and I basically told him to put them back or I would have HMC staff put them back for him and report him.

If people of this world simply respected other people's property and followed the rules, it would be a better place.

Wow. The nerve of some people! It takes a lot to get me riled up, but when I do, look out. You haven't seen crazy until you've seen me, a 5'3" half Italian woman blow my top. Let's just say it's not pretty! Dynamite comes in small packages.

Thanks so much for your well written and detailed review. I could not believe what I was reading about how people went dressed into the dining room for formal night. On my last cruise in March on the Breeze, I had to change on the 2nd formal night because I was too dressed up. I felt out of place. Everyone was more casual, but nothing like you described. I love the Glory. I have sailed on it several times, and plan to sail on it in August once again.

Same ship, same cabana. We had to move people from our chairs, reclaim the mats and ask them to leave the cabana after we went for a walk.

"Well, you weren't using them" was the answer I got. My response? Not as nice.

Can't say the exact same thing happened to us, but we were at HMC yesterday and had a villa. Multiple people would use our shower/walk in to the villa - whether we were there or not. There were a few times when I had to run out of the water and ask people to leave. Everyone was apologetic and I don't believe anyone intended to loot, but I think Carnival needs to work on this. Perhaps a key access gate?

its a shame about how people act as far as the cabanas and villas... cabanas cost 280.00 and villas 500!!! I think CCL staff should kind of watch out for this, and remove people that belong.. and if it happens you should be reimbursed part of your money...

Also, not to sound negative.. but daisy dukes and bikini tops in the dining room?? really??? You can do that here in the states only in places like Micky D's ... you know.. fast food... Hell.. hometown buffet would even require you to wear more than a bikini top..

I think the Maitred failed his job here... I know that many want more casual.. but folks... this is a formal dining room... not a cookout. Even if the dress code is relaxed, this and hats and wife beaters should not be allowed.

And this Maitred should be disciplined for allowing it. Sorry... off my high horse now...

I do think this needs to be reported to JH or perhaps even those above him... this is ridiculous:eek:

> Most night hats jogging shorts and wife beaters were present in the dining room I get it its vacation

I don't care; I will never be OK with this. I know it's "just a cruise" and "just Carnival" but let's attempt to be adults enough to take off the ball caps and manage a shirt that both covers the shoulders and does not advertise a beer brand. I don't even mind the shorts because their sorry legs are going to be under the table in any case. I wear tank tops almost all day while on board and it takes me one minute to head to the cabin and put on a collared shirt for dinner. It's just manners.

Sorry, I can't even resist ranting on this topic. Drives me mad when people treat everywhere like it's a hot dog stand.

One fellow on our cruise had Nike shorts, NASCAR t-shirt and flip flops at dinner on formal night. Needless to say he did 'stand out'.

Man I hope it was at least a semi-fancy driver!

Yeah see I don't even care if people dress up, or have nice clothing. I'm not going to criticize someone for having a different style even if it's not something I'd wear, or if their clothes aren't new or fashionable or whatever. But that's not even trying. Just try! Everyone owns a couple shirts with a collar, right? And a hairbrush :)

Holy cow!! We had #5 a couple of years ago and thankfully had no issues. I'm renting one again next month. I'll have to make sure we arrive earlier than the looters! [emoji33]

I could not believe what I was reading about how people went dressed into the dining room for formal night.

we had Your Time Dining and 3rd floor Golden Restaurant had women in gowns and men in at least button down shirts and ties, well except for this one guy who was with some very well dressed people, he was wearing shorts and sandals. At first I thought to cut him some slack, heck maybe his bag never arrived, but then I saw how ALL of the women around him were really ticked off, and realized he just didn't care. Our whole family got a huge, but quiet laugh over the whole thing, watching him be ostracized by his companions.

Did it effect me? Well yes, it brought some real levity to our already fun cruise.

Almost as funny as the next night when a women at the table next to us told her obviously grown children and husband that they were only ordering the main course and no appetizer or dessert. The looks on their faces were priceless, sad, but priceless.

Make your own happy time.

Unbelievable how some people act in public. There was a man on a 3 day cruise on Labor Day weekend that I sailed on. He also came in the dining room in shorts and sandals on formal night. They called his attention and he started screaming that it was his vacation and he dressed as he pleased. He then ordered 5 lobster tails all for himself. This was a few months before they eliminated lobster on sailings less than 6 days.

We were on the Glory the week of June 11. Not as lucky as you to get a Cabana so we rented 2 clamshells. We went to lunch and when we came back one of them was GONE! Funny how there were 5 to begin with, we took the first 2 in the row, and when we got back 2nd missing but there was still 5! Last one "appeared" but they didn't take ours. It was a group of about 15..... Went to people renting them and showed our receipt said they would come down . Never showed up.......I agree they need to fix this. Maybe need to announce on the tenders or something.
