Any recommendations on a travel insurance company? Are there many policies that cover medical evaluation from the Caribbean islands? Will be cruising in Sept with my parents who are in their 70s on the Getaway. Been a long time since I bought insurance.

You'll find a wealth of information on the Travel Insurance sub-forum here on CC:

And we (and many others here) use Steve (and his crew) at

http://www.TripInsuranceStore.com

Call him/them, don't just rely upon the website policy summaries, as the "fine print" is often critical.

He'll help you find the policy that works best for your specific situation (pre-existing conditions? family members old/ill? work schedule concerns/etc.).

We've had a couple of relatively large claims with policies from him, and they were paid promptly with no nonsense... and that's what counts after all!

Squaremouth.com has the same policies but has better search filters. If you have preexisting medical conditions, most policies require that a policy be purchased within 14 - 21 days of the first cruise payment. Check the fineprint.

We use Travelguard...and purchase it through our TA...prices seem reasonable and coverage seems good. Knock on wood, we've never had to use the insurance, but I wouldn't book without it. And my TA is so good, that I would trust her to recommend the best...! [emoji4][emoji4]

I have been happy with the service from Steve at TripInsuranceStore also. I've also been happy to have not needed the insurance but happy to pay for the peace of mind.
