Jimmy Buffet On Getaway

Recommended Posts

Got back today and we still had the Flamingo Grill on 16. It's my understanding that's where Margaritaville at Sea is going. That pains me - we hated the buffet. Everything about it. But with the Flamingo Grill just a deck away, we never needed it. Much more relaxed environment for a cup of morning coffee or quick bite. The Getaway is headed to Rio as a floating hote for the Olympics. I bet it gets renovated as part of that down service. Not sure they need another for-fee restaurant...

We were on the Getaway in mid June. When an officer stopped to chat with us in the Flamingo Grill, I asked her about the change to Margaritaville. She said it was scheduled to change over in September, but many of us are hoping that will be delayed. She told me they would move a few of the FG items to the buffet. Many of us are going to miss the Flamingo Grill....so great for breakfasts and lunches. On the Escape the Margaritaville wasn't serving breakfast and the prices at lunch weren't popular on our January cruise.
