I have been inside/oceanview and many aft balconies. I like to get the most for my money.

I soon discovered the "L" shape cabins on the Liberty-- I have 7434 booked for February.

I also like my cabin number to have something behind it-- sailed on Joe's birthday to celebrate his 40th-- 6262 being it the year he was born.

Booked 6250 on the Destiny to celebrate my big 50. (good thing that these cabins are located aft.

If I had the money I would sail in the largest suite I could every time. But unfortunately I don't have the money to cruise in a suite every time, so I will take what I can get.

So far I've sailed in an oceanview, an aft balcony, and an inside. Of all of them the aft balcony was my favorite so far, but I would gladly take an inside just to sail again. Being in an oceanview isn't worth the extra money in my opinion since I can't open the window in order to smell and hear the ocean.

I currently have 3 cruises booked, one in a Grand Suite, one in an Inside, and one in an Aft Junior Suite. I may very well discover that my favorite cabin is an AFT Suite.

we like lots of room!! we started out with a balcony cabin, then a mini suite, grand suite, and in january we have an owner's suite on freedom of the seas. we prefer a cabin near the elevator, mid ship. we like to be on about deck 10, but that varies by ship. suites are usually together. however.... we found a great deal with princess and we could only get a balcony cabin, but you better believe i was THERE!!! the extra room is nice, but a small cabin on a cruise is better than no cruise!!!!

I've stayed in an aft balcony (mini suite) and balcony cabin - because of this, I am now irreversibly spoilt, and I have to have a balcony cabin!

I would love to try a suite one of these days!

Whatever type of cabin you choose - enjoy your cruise!!

Kim.

We have stayed in Inside, Oceanview and balcony cabins. For the most part there is not much difference. We did notice that on Princess the Inside cabins are not decorated as nicely - though they are just fine. On our last cruise on the Norwegian Star we had an ocean view cabin all the way forward and on deck 4 - which is the lowest passenger deck. For the most part the cabin was fine, except for about 30 minutes when we were coming into port - there would be loud engine noises - not sure what from in the bow - but it was very loud. What I think you need to be most aware of is what is above, below and around you when booking a cabin. You do not want to be right above the engine room or anywhere near a bar or casino. And if a view is important to you be careful of the obstructed view cabins or you may spend the week looking at an orange life boat...

We love an aft cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the balcony watching what seemed to be an endless wake. It was beautiful. It was also peaceful and quiet. We have mostly cruised with NCL. We will be on the Jewel in March and were unable to get an aft cabin so we will be in a mini suite on deck 11 as far forward as you can get. Where in an aft we could see where we had been, this time we will be able to see where we are going. Has anyone been in a far forward cabin and if so how did you like it and was it a smooth ride?

We were lucky enough to snag an Aft corner balcony on the Celebrity Millenium for a cruise through the Panama Canal. The balcony itself is just huge, and the cabin had a small sitting room, and an extra closet.

The views we got going through the canal made it worth what we paid for it

We really hated to leave

We also had a Aft cabin (not corner) on the Caribbean Princess. While it was a nice cabin, there was a noticible amout of vibration; the hangers in the closet banged together all the time. This ship does not have azipods, and the cabin was right over the screws

The down side to any aft cabin is that is is a good walk to an elevator, and a REALLY long way to the ship theater, which seems to at the front of the ship most of the time.

Still, given the choice, if one were available, we'd grab it in a second

We love aft balcony ..however..I was not impressed with the balcony JS on the aft of the Mariner. Yes..it was large..but..the water was too far away because of the stern sticking so far out. :(

We loved the aft on the Serenade!! AWESOME!

We are booked on the aft of Summit for Hawaii and also corner aft of splendour in March. :) So..I guess aft is our favorite or..middle balcony is 2nd fav. :)

We were in a mini suite on the NCL Dream. Front of the ship with a balcony outside but no access, just a huge picture window. Others can stand out there and watch and waters, but while they were watching whats ahead, we were on the inside (one way glass) watching them and what you saw really was a show. I'll leave it at that.

Next trip we were upgraded to an NCL penthouse suite on the Jewel. Now I could have stayed there all the time. Why leave, it was wonderful.

We love a FORWARD balcony or mini-suite. Once you're in front of those forward stairs, not too many people coming down your hall, so it's pretty quiet. On the balcony it's not. It's the SWISH SWISH that sounds like the waves hitting a sandy beach. I adore that sound. Ship moves more in the forward, but we like the motion and the extra fresh air whipping around the front of the ship. Those aft cabins don't interest me one bit.:p
