Port Canaveral-hotel and parking

We are driving in the day before our cruise. Which is the better (economically) to get a hotel with parking for the week included or hotel & pay off site parking? If you have specific hotels & parking that you have used, please let me know!

The few times we have driven to any port we prefer to park at the port - I can be on the road while everyone else is still waiting for the hotel or parking lot shuttle.

That said, two sources for hotel parking deals I have used are http://www.stay123.com and http://www.parksleepfly.com

Thanks for the information, I will check them out!

The true answer requires a specific booking date and a comparison table with hotel room rates versus snooze & cruise packages versus 3rd-party and port parking options! If you have hotel points to use then also factor in those savings.

But to play a guessing game, at local hotels you can expect to pay around $6 per night for parking up to 7 days, including the out and back transfers for up to 4 people. Sometimes less, sometimes more but it is a safe number for our purpose here.

For example, at Sheraton 4 Points a king room with breakfast cost $128 per night in Aug (no parking). If you book the Snooze & Cruise parking package you pay $168 - so $40 for the 7 days extra for parking (roughly $6 per day).

Parking shipside costs $16 per day - clearly more expensive over 7 days than the package.

Now, to lower your ship-side costs, book a 40% shipside hotel partner! Then you pay only $9.60 per day at the Port - comparable to the hotels plus the convenience of it all including shaded/secured parking for your car!

There are a few cheaper options - for example off-sites for as little as $20 for 7 days parking for 2 people. Pick the cheapest hotel room and combine it with the cheapest off-site for the lowest overall costs.

About $115 for the night, free breakfast and free parking and a shuttle to and from the piers. Been here three times, and happy with their service and congeniality.
