a look inside the flight center. the windows are a two way mirror so the birds can't see the people.

The next part was seeing a Bald Eagle close up.

This is Sitka. She was found with a hole in her wing from where she was shot. She has to be careful as not to put anything through the hole which is still there. Thus, she cannot be returned to the wild.

We loved the black and white photos of the last two shots better than the colored ones.

Dinner time in the MDR! We met Jeff and Angie for Dinner. Remember that gift we bought for the Meet & Greet, well since we did not give it away there, we decided to give it to Jeff and Angie. We also brought a bottle of Champagne that we won with us to dinner.

We noticed it was getting late and we had yet to sail out of Sitka. The captain came over the PA and said they were having trouble wenching up the Anchor. later he came on saying they were working on the problem and we would sail out of Sitka by 10pm. We were suppossed to be in Juneau by 7am. Well that wasn't going to happen now.

Looking out to Sea wondering when we would go back out to Sea.

Great review. I am really loving the photos.

You both look like your having a amazing holiday. Is it your first Alaskan cruise?

No it's our third. We have done a roundtrip from both Seattle and Vancouver before.

We had an amazing time. It was out first time in Seward, Anchorage, Icy Strait Point, and Sitka though.

This is one of the very best cruise reviews I have ever read, you are really to be commended for it. There is so much negativity around here that it is great to see a wonderful couple having a great time. We are on the Sun 14 day San Francisco to Vancouver in May 2017 and your review made us look forward to it even more. It will be our third time on the Sun and it is a great ship iMHO!

My routine in the mornings now is to read your review while having my cup of coffee! Love it and it is one of the best reviews I have read. My husband and I have an Alaska cruise booked on the Sun for June 2017. Looking forward to it even more now.

Thank you. I saw that itinerary and would love to sail it, but once again work gets in the way. I love the Sun, and this cruise reminded my why. The Jewel Class ships are nice, but they have nothing on the Sun!

I am glad to be a morning staple! Thank you for your kind words. Enjoy your cruise!

Glad you are enjoying the review.

My wife arrived early for her second massage of the cruise early. They took her there. She said it was nice, but she couldn't remember if there was a charge for it or not.

On the dress, she had no clue about it. I found it online, figured out her size, and ordered it all without her knowing. She was shocked at its beauty when she opened the present back at Christmas.

Lets get day 3 started back up!

IMG_2822.jpg

Liar's club is a game show where all four people give you a definition for the word given. One is true and the other three are "lies." The audience has to figure out who is telling the truth.

IMG_2823.jpg

one of the female cruise staff dressed up as "Vanna White"

IMG_2824.jpg

IMG_2825.jpg

First word was "Trion"

IMG_2826.jpg

IMG_2827.jpg

George "defining" Trion with a story and a song!

Loved the eagle and owls photos!! OK, also the hawk. OK, loved all your photos.

Where are you going next? I am already looking forward to your next review. No pressure or anything. I like to have something to look forward to and I get very sad when I review I am loving is over.

Thanks for the cruise

Tuey's definition

IMG_2829.jpg

Jim defining. He would end his by saying "Don't vote for me, becuase thats a lie."

IMG_2831.jpg

George told the truth on the first word, Trion.

IMG_2833.jpg

"Vanna" changed into a new get-up. "crapulence" is the word. Yes, the definition has to deal with crap.

IMG_2834.jpg

George told the truth. Jim once again told us he lied and we shouldn't vote for him. a Quarter of the audience still voted for him!

IMG_2839.jpg

IMG_2840.jpg

Iain told the truth on "Erecterine." Can you guess what Jim said?

IMG_2841.jpg

Final word was "Tittup."

IMG_2842.jpg

Tuey showing his definition.

IMG_2843.jpg

He was telling the truth. Jim once again said he lied, but He and Tuey basically split the audience vote on "Tittup"

Cruise Director Iain making his grand entrance for his magic show.

IMG_2846.jpg

They had a camera on it so everyone could see, but we had excellent seats!

IMG_2847.jpg

IMG_2848.jpg

The magic show was hilarious, and everone had a fun time.

Between the Liar's Club and Iain's magic show, they got the anchor up and we finally got on our way.

We went back to the stateroom to get funds for the Casino. This guy was waiting for us!

We had mail when we arrived at our stateroom. A letter from the Captain.

CaptainsLetter.jpg

The letter told us when to expect arrival into Juneau, the fact every stateroom was getting $100 shipboard credit, and the fact we would not sail Sawyer Glacier. After our great day at Hubbard, I felt Sawyer would have been a big let down (I have seen it twice before).

We played in the Casino for a while. We ate dinner early for us, so by now I was getting hungry. so we went back to deck 11 aft and the Sports Bar.

We ordered some food, and met another couple, Austin and Stephanie. They were married, and both school teachers in the LA area. We both talked about past NCL sailings we had taken, which ships we liked, Big vs Small, etc.

IMG_0533.jpg

Susan got the artichoke dip and chips.

IMG_0534.jpg

I got the Chicken Sandwich.

We ended talking with Austin and Stephanie till close to 2am. Then, We decided it was time to head to bed.

BTW, the wind was howling up on deck 11, so we had to be booking it.

End of day 4.

The Caribbean next June. You could also look through my short Jewel review in my signature line. We just got to the halfway point on the ship, we still have puppies to come!
