Just booked Aug 21, 2018 Alaska cruise as we need a handicap cabin. Love this thread and from what Iam reading we are mostly ready clothes wise. Gloves? Those are on the to-buy list as extreme SE Georgia doesn't call for those very often and what I have are more "fashion" than useful.

I realized right off the list was geared to a very active person but overall there has been some great ideas.

Headed to the Caribbean in Feb and then will get serious about Alaska.

Which line had 2018 available to book?

Gloves? It was 80 in Anchorage on Sunday Aug 26th. See picture in post #75.

Most people who are reading this thread aren't going to Anchorage... they're on a cruise, probably going no further north than Skagway. A few warm days in Anchorage doesn't mean they will experience the same in Ketchikan, Juneau or ISP.

Gloves are very useful especially if you're on a small boat excursion or glacier viewing. I've taken them on every trip to Alaska .... you just never know what kind of weather you will get. Better safe than sorry.
