Norwegian Sun - Viva Vino

Recommended Posts

I haven't cruised the Sun recently but in general - you can not buy the VIVA VINO package in advance.

When you first board the SUN stop on Deck 5 (Atlantic deck) and in the elevator atrium there will be

a table or kiosk set up with most all the wines on display and an order form to select the wine

packages you want (wine packages are in lots of a minimum of 4 bottles and even numbers higher).

With VIVA VINO there are NO CORKAGE FEES !

You select the -4- bottles of your choice and the charge will appear on your stateroom invoice as

a restaurant charge.

The charge for -4- bottles in the economy category is around $100 - so about $25 a bottle.

The VIVA VINO has three tiers of wine selection.

You should get 4 individual servings from each bottle.

All bottles are CORKED when served the cork will be removed - if you have the bottles in your

cabin you should have a cork screw available in your cabin if not ask the cabin attendent for one.

You will be given a paper slip for each bottle with the selection noted.

You can take the slip(s) with you and present it at any restaurant or bar and will be served.

Unused portions remaining the slip will be returned to you and your next visit show the slip

and your bottle will retieved from storage and served (any where on the ship).

You can optionally request the bottles you ordered to be brought to your cabin and the slips

will be exchanged for the wine.

Near the end of the cruise uncorked bottles can be taken with you BUT NO REFUNDS !

Nothing terribly fancy - but the system works although be patient when ordering it for service

The wine maybe 6-7-or more decks away in a liquor locker and has to be retrieved.

If you use the same restaurant the next serving should be just at hand and not so much a wait.

NOTE: Optional sales location maybe somewhere on the Pool Deck tucked away in a corner.

In most cases the VIVA VINO packages can ONLY be ordered the first couple of days of the

cruise - verify that to be sure so that you don't miss it.

Thank you very much for such an in-depth response! One of the most useful posts I have seen in days! :) It's much appreciated and most likely invaluable on our forthcoming cruise. As we say around here: "Yo'm a guddun!"
