SteerageJoe Posted July 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) OK, the world has become a playground for people catching imaginary little things with their phones in popular public places  You are excited about your upcoming cruise but your kids wonder if they can catch Pokémon on the trip! At least they will get out and walk now instead of lounging at the pool! The cruise terminals at Port Canaveral are not fertile hunting grounds but The Cove is! 1 – Head over to Milliken’s Reef where you will find a Gym and a nice selections of Pokemon to catch. 2 – Then keep catching them as you walk towards Grills past Rusty’s and Fishlips! 3 – You will encounter 3 PokeStops (for example, the gator at Fishlips and at Sunrise Marina) as well as another Gym at the Smokehouse. One can easily spend an entertaining hour in the area if you are a serious trainer! The hotels at Cape Canaveral are not Pokemon friendly yet. There are at least 2 Gyms in the area (both at car wash establishments) but catching Pokemon is a boring exercise at this time and it requires a lot of walking. I am still exploring the Cocoa Beach hotel area...should be plenty of Pokémon there! SteerageJoe Posted July 31, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted July 31, 2016 (edited) The Port Canaveral / Cocoa Beach Pokémon Go site has been updated with a map to show all the current PokeStops and Gyms for Port Canaveral, Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach - basically everything from Cruise Terminal 5 all the way south to the International Palms Resort! http://cruiseportcanaveral.us/pokemon-go/ If your kids are anxious about catching Pokémon before your cruise, you can use the map to find the most dense areas. I highly recommend the Cove Restaurants at the Port for Pokémon Go! So far we've registered 50 unique Pokémon in the area and reached level 15 in only 10 days! It is also the safest area for your kids to explore while you enjoy dinner and drinks. There are always lures and incense around Rusty's and Fishlips! The Ron Jon Surf shop area is another popular area and Lori Wilson Park - both with several PokeStops and Gyms.
