question about boarding times in San Juan

We were able to board the Golden Princess last year at about noon, the same as other ships. Then we settled in, had lunch, then got off the ship to go into Old San Juan for some sightseeing. No problem at all....

Normally, you can get on about noon. That's one of the beneftis of leaving from San Juan. It's almost like another day on the ship, if you arrive early. Two years ago, on the Golden we had the main pool to ourselves from 1-2. It was to enjoy the ship before it filled up. I took some nice photos.

Normal boarding time is at about noon. After you board you are free to enjoy a partially empty ship or wander back on shore and enjoy some sight seeing in San Juan. The late sailing time is due to the fact that alot of the flights from other than east coast cities arrive in San Juan late in the day or early evening. By scheduling sailing at 1100pm it gives all those folks a chance to get to the ship without having to arrive a full day early.
