Voom WIFI on Anthem of the Seas

Hello all! Cruising in 20 days and looking for reviews/feedback on the Voom wifi.

 

If you get the 1 device package does that mean 1 device at a time? Can I use my phone and iPad, but not at same time?

 

Is it worth it? Does it work well, speed?

 

Considering this vs Verizon global plan? Thoughts?

 

Any other advice or feedback is appreciated!

Correct, any number of different devices but only one at a time.

 

I would not consider a cellular plan for data vs. using the ship WiFi. The ship WiFi will be very much faster and much less expensive.

We experienced Voom wifi for the first time last Sep on Anthem. It was pretty good. Could stream YouTube, Netflix etc and FaceTime. Coverage was ship wide. Check your cruise planner as there are sometimes advance purchase discounts. We snagged 30% off for our Oasis B2B next Feb.

Surf will be fine for texting.

Yes, unless RCI decides to throttle SURF as reported on Freedom, in which case SURF might not be enough.

Hope not. I'm leaving tomorrow on anthem and purchased surf. Was hoping my wife could occasionally facetime

If you have time and a speed test app, could you report the ping and down/up speeds on the ship?
