sueernieb Posted July 24, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2016 We were on Allure a couple of weeks ago and saw a strange sight . At least three of the nights there was a man sitting in front of a cabin on deck 3. There was no way anyone in the cabin could get by him or the table he had. I had a couple of thoughts but I wondered if anyone knew for sure. Sue
wolfcathorse Posted July 24, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2016 yes, someone in that cabin was naughty and confined to quarters by the captain's approval. Security camps outside to make sure they don't leave. On EX a few years back a lady was totally sloshed in Boleros, she was just twirling in the royal promenade entrance so everyone had to maintain a distance. She was on our deck and the next day for the next 2 days we saw a female security officer sitting outside the cabin door. The room mate was allowed in and out, but not twirly lady. As we were walking past, the room mate was leaving and relayed a message to the guard that her room mate was dying for a smoke. The guard had to report any and all requests. I don't know if they escorted her out for a smoke or told her to tough it out but I would hope twirly lady learned to control herself

Pete I thought of that Pete but the guard would probably had on a mask if that was the case. At least I would think so. Sue :)
Fouremco Posted July 24, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I've never known any cruise line to put a guard on the door of someone under quarantine. Not saying is couldn't happen, but it's very unlikely IMO.
Lessa123 Posted July 24, 2016 #6 Share Posted July 24, 2016 I would imagine that a guard would be there if the person refused to stay in the room while under quarantine.
Clarea Posted July 24, 2016 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2016 Hi, Another reason is the occupants could have been quarantined for a medical problem. Pete I've also seen it when a guest was found to have illegal drugs and ship's security kept them in the stateroom until shoreside authorities came on board to take the guest away.
