Visa's on board ship

We are doing the Hong Kong to Singapore 14 day cruise in December and had some Visa questions that we can no seem to find the answer to.

I know there is no past experience with NCL and Asia as they have not started the itinerary yet but this would be for people who have had to get a visa for other countries while sailing as US Citizens.

1. we have a 5 years Vietnam Visa exemption stamped in our passports as my wife was born there and we all qualified for the exemption as well. Will they automatically charge everyone on the ship for the visa or will they not charge us as we have an exemption stamped?

2. the only other stop we need a visa for is Cambodia, in past experience is it cheaper to get on your own or just have the ship do it, there are 5 of us so saving 20 bucks a person adds up

The ship does not always process visas so you need to find out first if the ship is processing visas for those countries.

The only answer that matters is NCL. Call them.

The Vietnam visa is usually handled on the ship and that would be for everyone. You will want to opt out, if possible. The same usually applies to Cambodia so you probably want to let that one ride. We've had a Cambodian visa a number of times but that is always geared to an airport arrival.

Again, call NCL.

I have spoken to NCL and they are clueless as per usual

Unfortunately, if NCL can't tell you if they will offer Cambodian visas on board this sailing, or how much they will cost, no one on this board can give you that information, either… But did you just just give up after the random phone rep who answered the phone was unable to answer this rather advanced question about a first-time itinerary that's still 6 months away? Or did you make sure your concerns were passed up to someone who might actually be expected to be able to help you?

All you can do is keep calling the relevant people at NCL to remind them that passengers on this cruise need the info sooner rather than later. And in the meantime find out how much it would cost you to get visas from the consulate for your family ahead of the cruise, and how much trouble that would be.

As for Vietnam, it sounds like you are all set. If they try to charge you on board for additional visas that you don't need, just tell them not to.
