Long Beach airport

My cruise mate wants to fly home out of Long Beach after the Miracle docks January 14th. I suggested that she could fly out by 12 noon if we dock at 9. Is that good advice or does the proximity of the airport mean she could fly out by 11, or does she need to book a flight that is even later than noon? I'm flying out of LAX at 2:30 so I'm unsure about LOng Beach.

Noon should be fine for LGB.

 

Best to do self assist. Taking all your luggage off with you and leaving the ship as early as possible. Lately the Miracle has begun debark around 7:30 for priority and around 8 for regular.

Carnival recommends flights after 12:30 from Long Beach Airport for ships arriving at 9:00 AM in Long Beach. That being said, if you do self-disembark and take a taxi directly to the airport, you should be fine. The airport isn't far away and it's a small airport.

Wow, really? LGB is small but I'd fly out of there any day before LAX or Orange County. In and out quickly with none of the big airport hassles.

 

OP, your friend will be fine with a noon flight.

I love Long Beach airport and have an early flight booked in October. As long as we dock on time, a noon flight will be no problem.

Worse than LAX? Hahahaha! Yeah......I often catch the 1000 on AA to Phoenix from LGB doing self assist with zone 1 and TSA precheck. I have time for a coffee as well.

My daughter lives in Long Beach. The Long Beach airport is a hop, skip and a jump from the cruise terminal. No more than a 10-15 minute drive north.

I'd fly into LGB instead of LAX anytime I have the option. LAX is a dump.
